This year the Nechako White Sturgeon Recovery Initiative’s display booth was at River’s Day in Vanderhoof at Riverside Park . This was the first celebration of River’s Day in Vanderhoof and we think it was a great success. Approximately 125 people visited the display booth which we used as an opportunity to increase awareness regarding the decline of the Nechako white sturgeon population, habitat loss, and recovery activities. The NWSRI sends our sincere appreciation to artist Annerose Georgeson for making a truly amazing paper mache sturgeon that children painted throughout the day.
